Zero Emissions Day 2022: A Step Towards A Greener Future

Today, September 21st, is International Zero Emissions Day. The purpose of this day is to give the planet a break from fossil fuels for 24 hours by promoting cleaner, greener forms of energy.

Zero Emissions Day began in 2008 in Canada. Since then, it has grown to become a worldwide event, with the biggest celebration to mark the day this year taking place in New York, as part of climate week.

Product Marketing Manager at Solar Capture Technologies, Jonathan Brown, said: “With Carbon Neutrality becoming of increasing importance it is vital to take a step back and review what changes need to be made, from economy wide action to individual impetus.

“Zero Emissions Day provides a perfect opportunity for us all to reflect on what we can do to further reduce our emissions.”

Jonathan continued: “Our UK Mega-Plant situated near the port of Blyth is equipped with a 35KW solar wall with additional energy being generated from off-shore wind turbines just off the coast.

“We at Solar Capture believe it is important to practice what you preach; demonstrating how renewable technology can be used to lower our carbon footprint and counter rising energy bills.”

The latest product to be developed and manufactured at the UK Mega-Plant is the Flex Solar Module which provides an off-grid solution to reduce carbon emissions and running costs for a range of applications.

Jonathan said: “Solar Capture are committed to creating a sustainable future for both people and planet and are passionate about developing and manufacturing the latest innovations in solar technology to ensure renewable energy is accessible to all.”
