After multiple failures with standard solar modules, Solar Capture were contracted by the Catapult Off-Shore Renewable Energy Centre to install a series of Solar Energy Hubs to power their North East Campus speed signs. With two of the five existing solar panels shearing off their mounting brackets due to persistent high wind loading, a solution that could overcome the issues was critical for site safety.
The streamline profile of the Solar Energy Hub ensures that wind loading is kept to a minimum, delivering a robust, high performance module that works anywhere. We were able to provide customised electrical connector ports within each Energy Hub for quick ‘plug-and-play’ connectivity to each speed sign.
