With the emergence of Smart Cities and the Internet of Things (IoT) there is a requirement for the powering and connection of independent devices.  Our company can truly add value to smart city technology by providing standalone power solutions without the need for grid connection.

In Europe 75% of people live in urban areas which is expected to increase to 80% by 2020. With cities in Europe emitting 70% of Europe’s carbon dioxide, the requirement for smarter, cleaner cities, is more apparent than ever before.

The potential growth of smart city technology should not be underestimated, with the UK Government stating that they believe the smart city market will be worth £200bn a year by 2030.

There are a number of ways in which solar can be integrated into smart city technology. For example, solar powered sensors can be used in a Smart Parking System which sends alerts to notify the public when there is a free parking space. Solar powered sensor systems can also be used for Environmental Monitoring to measure temperature, light, pollution and noise, as well as in Waste Management which is the use of sensors to send alerts when bins need emptied. Solar can also be used to aid Intelligent Traffic Management Systems, Smart Lighting Systems, Vibration Monitoring and Water Level Monitoring.
